Ekdin Pratidin was released on1980 Bengali film starring Mamta Shankar, Sreela Majumder, Satya Banerjee, Gita Sen, Tapan Das, Umanath Bhattacharya. The Bengali film is directed by Mrinal Sen. Writer Amalendu Chakraborty, BV Karanath scored the music in the film. The story is as the bread-winning daughter in a middle-class family fails to return from work one evening. The night begins with worries at home, followed by midnight searches and finally a deepening crisis arising out of economic and moral constraints prevalent in the society.
