We met up with artist Martin Creed, whose own playful contribution sees the spectacular sea-facing galleries filled with hundreds of white balloons, and who was there with his band to celebrate the opening. Summer season 2011 at Tate St Ives brings an eclectic mix of modern and contemporary works to the galleries. The displays include a room of beautiful late works by the acclaimed American painter Agnes Martin as well as works by Naum Gabo, Roman Ondak, Fischli & Weiss, Lucio Fontana and Anri Sala.
