Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and the future
The Muslim Brotherhood has emerged from Egypt’s January revolution as one of the country's leading political forces. After being banned for decades under former president Hosni Mubarak, it has formed a party, mobilised volunteers all over the country and is preparing for parliamentary elections due in September. Liberals are worried that they are getting left behind by this apparent force but just how united is the group? How much support can it count on across the country and who else is vying for power? Roula Khalaf, Middle East editor, reports from Egypt.
