Scrums Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe, NDP Leader Jack Layton and NDP Defence Critic Jack Harris commented on the issues surrounding the Speaker’s ruling regarding the release of documents related to Afghan detainees.  Liberal Foreign Affairs Critic Bob Rae, also commented on issues surrounding the Speaker’s ruling as well as the Conservative government’s decision not to fund abortion as part of its G8 plan on maternal health and the potential for a plea bargain for for Canadian-born terror suspect Omar Khadr.
