The Ghost of a Flea by William Blake
Tate curator, Philippa Simpson, reflects on Blake’s career and psychological state whilst painting The Ghost of a Flea.04.02.2011 In this series of short films, Tate celebrates The Google Art Project, a unique collaboration with some of the world’s most acclaimed art museums that enable people to discover and view more than a thousand artworks online in extraordinary detail. These pairs of short films approach four famous works from Tate's collection - which feature in the online project - from both personal and curatorial perspectives.  The viewer is invited to learn more about the work in a traditional art historical context, but also encouraged to access the work through personal histories that uniquely relate to the subject of the painting.
