FL:FBI RAIDS BUSINESS
Shot 06/29/2011.## FBI agents conducted the raid on Southeast Underground Utilities in Davie Tuesday in what is being called a public corruption investigation. Over a dozen officers descended on the business by mid-morning, blocking the entrance and exit, halting operations. Employees stood outside the 3-acre facility which houses a warehouse, equipment yard and mobile home trailers used as office space but they all said they had no idea what was going on and did not want to speak on camera. By noon business was allowed to resume on the property but the investigation continued. The FBI is being very tight-lipped about the raid, saying only that they are dealing with sealed documents. Southeastern Underground Utilities has had a contract with Broward County since 2007 to install traffic cameras and other signal equipment. However, the bids have been controversial. The company’s contract has ballooned from $10 million to over $21 million in only four years.##
