Juliet Taylor discusses casting
Juliet Taylor can take credit for casting more than 100 films over the span of her career. Those titles include Taxi Driver, Schindler’s List, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Sleepless in Seattle, Meet Joe Black, and Vicky Christina Barcelona. Taylor became the Director of East Coast casting in 1977 for Paramount Pictures, but left a year later to cast motion pictures independently. Taylor has worked with some of the most reputable directors of our time, including Mike Nichols, Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, John Schlesinger, and Norah Ephron. Additional Taylor credits include Between the Lines, Terms of Endearment, Big, Working Girl, Primary Colors, The Life of David Gale, The Interpreter and Match Point. Her most recent film, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, Whatever Works, is directed by Woody Allen and stars Larry David.
