A close rival to the city in the financial sector is on the Docklands in east London. As a city built on its booming river trade, the Docklands were developed to cope with the rise in business during the height of the British Empire. For visitors staying in nautical history of London or visiting London on business interests, the Docklands is becoming increasingly popular as a place and the sights, especially when you are away is preferred by the bustle of the West End. The museum lays out the history of the area from the time of Roman settlement right up to modern times.
