Cae Mabon - A low impact retreat centre in North West Wales
Please see www.caemabon.co.uk for more details about the centre featured in the film. From the website: "I ddechrau, ysbrydolwyd Cae Mabon gan y dymuniad i ddysgu mwy am fywyd ein cyndeidau miloedd o flynyddoedd yn ol. Dyna felly pam yr adeiladwyd Ty Crwn Celtaidd yma yn gyntaf - adeilad tebyg i’r hyn fyddau ein cyndeidiau yn byw ynddo, ac yn traddodi storiau o gwmpas y tan. Er i nifer erall o adeiladau ecolegol gael eu hadeiladu yma, parha'r Ty Crwn Celtaidd yn galon fyw i'r ganolfan, ac yn hafan fywiog i aml noson o fwynhad, cymdeithasu, can, llenydda a straeon di ri. The Cae Mabon Retreat Centre has been evolving since 1989. It is set in natural woodland by a rushing river, near a deep lake, at the foot of high mountains and almost within sight of the sea. A family of beautiful, natural, earthy structures provide appealing spaces for groups to meet, retreat, work and play. People have looked all over Britain for something similar but in vain." This short documentary is my first journey into the world of film making and was recorded in April of 2009 during the spring 'working party' held annually. This is my first production, made without any training other then being a child of the television/internet age. Mistakes like wiping the lense clean before shooting were hard won this time around; too many faded cuts, no wind muffler on the mic, lack of fully engaging Eric Maddern with a solid script and manor etc. All "action learning" to be taken note of : ) Made on a Sony PD170, a Zoom H4 Audio recorder, Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Adobe After Effects CS3. Music (in order of appearance): Andrew Cronshaw - Y garreg las Nigel Shaw - Voice of the Well Maneesh de Moor - Interlude (Om Deeksha) Coyote Oldman - Clouds Ripple Ondas do mar - Ensemble Amadis
