Marines work with Japanese military to provide aid
The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit has arrived off the east coast of mainland Japan near Miyako, March 22. With the help of the Japanese Self-Defense Force, the MEU has started delivering aid. The 31st MEU has responded to four humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the last two years and continues to provide a flexible, sea-based force capable of supporting Operation Tomodachi as directed.
