Sunday is International Women’s Day, a time to celebrate the enormous achievements of women. Guinean Koumantio Zeinab Diallo is an advocate for women's rights, but she is also a highly respected poet. We look at how she uses words to further her cause. A poet with a passion. Zeinab Koumanthio Diallo is in love with the lush landscape of her people the Peulhs of central Guinea. And unlike many other writers who fled during the dark days of the country's former dictatorship, Zeinab chose to stay. Zeinab Koumanthio Diallo, poet, “We must stay. Not everyone can leave. We must stay and confront reality. We must speak for those who can not speak."
