Discussion will focus on the growing interest in federating identity management via federations, associations of enterprises that come together to exchange information about their users and resources to enable collaborations and transactions.  This session wil highlight InCommon, a US higher education federation, and similar international Research and Education federations, identifying both technology and policy challenges. Efforts to address interfederation interoperability, including work with the Government E-Authentication Initiative, will be discussed.
