蔡宛池：「當我和先生在十二年前，發覺女兒是一個中度智障、手腳不協調的孩子時，真是晴天霹靂，我們都不知如何是好，生命好像變得沒有甚麼希望，我很快就決定辭掉工作，用更多的時間去教她、照顧她，希望培養她手腳協調，起初我給她打乒乓球，打了幾年之後，我又發覺長跑也行，結果我就讓她長跑，我和我先生都沒有想過怎樣可以這樣，尤其是她得到，特殊亞運和特殊奧運的獎牌時，當時很激動，因為我們覺得真的很光榮很驕傲，我和我先生一直都抱著一個信念，就是艱險我奮鬥，逆境更自強這個道理，也希望每個香港人能做到逆境自強。」
