Dell Up 2%, Apple Higher, Hewlett Packard Just Lower followi
Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) is up more than 2% and Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is fractionaly higher, while Hewlett-Packard Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) is off fractionally after a brief run in the green on a private research company’s report that personal computer sales will only grow by 4.2% this year, down from an earlier forecast of 7.1% growth. The company, International Data Corp., made the projection after PC sales dropped by 1.1% in the first quarter compared with last year. The company cited the tepid recovery, smartphone and tablet competition and a saturated market. Regular laptops have grown more competitive, and tablets like the iPad have emerged, cutting into sales of so-called "netbooks," the company said.
