CT Scans Reduce Lung Cancer Deaths
Lung cancer caused by smoking is one of the major causes of death around the world. Most people who get lung cancer usually do not survive, and more than 5 million people die each year from tobacco use - many of them in developing countries. Now, a study in the United States shows that screening smokers using CT scans, instead of traditional chest X-rays, can help reduce lung cancer deaths. VOA’s Deborah Block has the story.
