Pacific Vision: The Asia Pacific Scholars Program at Stanford
In 1994, Stanford President Gerhard Casper announced a highly selective scholarship program to bring outstanding students from Asia to Stanford for graduate study across a wide variety of disciplines. The mission: to bring together future leaders of Asia and the Pacific Rim, creating a nucleus of future professionals and experts forging bonds across national boundaries through a variety of common activities. The Stanford Channel followed Scholars as they met in seminars, traveled on field trips and gathered for barbecues, and profiled several of them in depth. From the Series:InterChange
