Why overnight shipping is always a bad idea
Sometimes you just have to get something delivered the very next day, so you run down to your local post office or FedEx location and sign up for overight shipping. But did you know that using overnight shipping instead of standard ground delivery can be up to six times less energy efficient? Overnight shipping is sent out on airplanes, which burn far more fossil fuels than the trucks that are used for ground deliveries. Plus, since airplanes are already flying closer to the atmosphere, their greenhouse gases do more damage than the ones that are released by cars on the ground. And besides, overnight shipping is so much more expensive than standard shipping. So do your best to plan your shipping in advance instead of waiting up until the last minute and sending it overnight... you’ll save money and the environment at the same time
