BRIDESMAID DRESSES & WEDDING THEMES
The bridesmaids at a wedding always wear color coordinated dresses... but is it appropriate for female guests who are not part of the wedding party to wear the same color as the bridesmaids, or will it cuase confusion? There is no hard and fast rule to this, and in the end, it’s really up to what the bride wants... it's her day after all. She might actually love the idea of having her whole wedding theme be pink and her guests wearing pink dresses that match her bridesmaids. If you are a guest and you are worried about this issue, you should just ask the bride to avoid controversy. And if you don't feel comfortable asking, you can either choose another dress color, or if that's too expensive, accessorize in a way that will make you stand out from the bridesmaids. Shoes, scarves, or wraps of different colors can make it clear to the rest of the guests that you are not a bridesmaid... but the fact that you won't be standing at the altar with the bride during the ceremony will also probably be a good clue that guests will pick up on.
