米・アリゾナ州で大規模な砂嵐発生 少なくとも2万戸が停電
アメリカ・アリゾナ州で5日、大規模な砂嵐が発生し、およそ2万戸が停電するなど被害が出ている。幅80kmにわたる、巨大な壁のような煙。これは、アリゾナ州の最大都市フェニックスで発生した砂嵐で、毎時110km近い速さで、ハリケーン並みの勢力を保ちながら移動を続けている。この影響で、空港が一時閉鎖されたほか、少なくとも2万戸が停電しているということだが、くわしい被害状況はわかっていない。砂嵐の規模は次第に縮小しつつあるが、視界が悪化しているうえ、各地に激しい雷雨や洪水注意報も出されていて、気象当局が注意を呼びかけている。
