The joy, and pains, of the rehersal dinner
With all the months of planning that go into a wedding, things can be very stressful and nerve wracking as the big day approaches. By the time you get to your wedding weekend, you may feel like you are about to explode from it all, so make sure your rehearsal dinner doesn’t add to the stress. Your rehearsal dinner should be a meal for your wedding party, close family, and anybody else you want to invite to toast you and your fiancee and to relax before the big ceremony. Try and make the dinner as relaxed as possible, with a more casual menu than you will be serving at the wedding reception. Pasta or Mexican food can put your guests in an informal mood that will lead to a relaxing evening. And make sure to only invite the people you want at the rehearsal dinner... your wedding party and immediate family are the only people you need to invite to the dinner, so don't feel obligated to invite that obnoxious uncle who makes everyone uncomfortable to your rehearsal dinner if you don't want him there... he'll have plenty of time to make annoy everyone on your actual wedding day. And one last tip to make your rehearsal dinner less stressful is to have it two nights before the wedding instead of the night before the ceremony.... if people are already in town, this can make the evening before your wedding a little more relaxing and stress free. Without any scheduled events the night before you get married, you can relax a little more and even try and get a good night's sleep. Which you probably won't be able to do less than 24 hours before tying the knot, but getting the rehearsal dinner out of the way the night before will at least help.
