iReport — Finally the verdict has been rendered and the court case is pretty much over. Many are in shock and see this as O.J. Simpson all over again. Many are unhappy with the verdict, like myself, in lieu of that admission, I must put aside my passions and subjectivity. We have to try the case based on facts and not emotions. I am displeased with the verdict, because we all know that Casey and her parents are culpable, unfortunately, for the jury, they couldn’t see that based on the facts presented. Does that mean the system failed? I would have to say no, the system did not fail; the people in that system is what failed. Remember when Nancy Grace had that field hockey team practically guilty even before the facts were fully established? We can not allow the media "try the case" without the facts present to inflame our passions to justify their ratings. There are some that are saying that they are disappointed with our jury system, but I must decline that assessment because it is our system that has lasted this long. We are not other countries where there is mob rule and you're guilty before you even arrive at the court house. That is what separates this country from the rest of the world. Will justice ever come for Caylee? Will we be able to respect the verdict and learn from it? Will we be able to remain objective and not let our passions over take us? I can only answer, I do not know.
