Jadoo (MAGIC)
This was an interesting project for me for many reasons. This is a music video I produced, directed, shot and edited in Dallas Tx. This piece will air in Pakistan. "Jadoo" means MAGIC. I shot it on a low budget using an HVX200, a mini35, along with a set of Ziess speed primes. I also used a FOX wireless follow focus. I haven’t used this brand before and wasn’t very pleased with it - it was very finicky, hard to calibrate and not exacting enough for my taste. The Arri and/or the Preston are my usual choices, just couldn’t get a hold of one. Shot mostly using natural light and on the rain shots I used a 1 gallon pump garden sprayer, the snow was, of course, potato flakes. I prefer the work flow of the EX1 with the Letus extreme better than the HVX200 and the mini 35, but the mini 35 is a solid converter. The Zeiss primes are a set that I love - very fast T1.3 and allow for maximum depth of field. It was a fun shoot and we achieved some interesting visuals.
