Bijoyini was released on 1982 Bengali film starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Aparna Sen, Shailen Ganguly, Ajit Lahiri, ,Ramen Roychowdhury, Kajal Gupta, Santana Basu, Soma Chaki, Soma Mukherjee. The Bengali film is directed by Palassh Bandopadhyay. Chinmoy Chattopadhyay scored the music in the film. The story is as Chiroshree and Prioranjan are married against her parents will. They start their newly married life with the help of Priyos closest friend Ratnakar. But due to intimacy out of friendship between Ratnakar and Chiroshree, Priyo starts misunderstanding them. They have a baby boy. Priyo loses some money in a race and he is arrested and sent to jail for three years. Chiroshree starts a cosmetic business with Ratnakars help and guidance. She also gets the kind help of bank manager Mr. Taraldar for the bank loan. Chiroshrees business flourishes and they move to a new house. After his release from jail Priyo cannot find his family in their old house. After returning from abroad, Chiroshree’s son also joins her firm. After so many years, Priyo sees her picture in the newspaper and comes to her office. Out of love and respect Chiroshree arranges for him to stay in a hotel.
