Israel Releases Gaza Flotilla Activists
(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: June 2, 2010) Israel has released hundreds of activists detained in Monday’s raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech defending Israel's actions, giving justifications for the raid on the flotilla. A gunman went on a shooting rampage in northwest England, killing twelve. Taliban fighters targeted Afghan leaders taking part in a national peace meeting, firing rockets that landed close to the venue in Kabul. After just eight months in office and facing diminished domestic support, Japan's Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama has quit.
