A 1950s View Of American Idol
Our crack stage crew bought an old black-and-white TV at a garage sale to decorate infoMania’s new set. Imagine our surprise when the decades-old set sputtered to life to reveal Mr. TV, a visitor from the medium's Golden Age. (Full disclosure: Mr. TV bears a strong resemblance to infoMania's own Sergio Cilli.) This week Brett and Mr. TV talk "American Idol," which Mr. TV first believes is an ode to teen icon Troy Donahue. (Ask your grandparents.) Mr. TV does cotton to new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, though the Aerosmith lead singer doesn't look like any of the fellas he knows down at the lodge. infoMania airs on Thursdays at 11/10c on Current TV.
