Holbrooke’s Death Expected to Impact Strategy Toward Afghanistan, Pakistan
The U.S. envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke, leaves behind a long legacy of diplomatic achievements. Holbrooke died Monday at age 69. He was working to provide development aid to Afghanistan and Pakistan to convince people in both countries not to sympathize with Taliban extremists. Some experts and officials in the two countries say President Obama will have difficulty in replacing him. VOA’s Ravi Khanna has more.
