Down at the farm
Farming life is not easy in Germany these days: Prices for agricultural produce are too low to survive. Many farmers are having to look at alternative forms of revenue, chiefly tourism. Last year, farms in Bavaria alone recorded 11.5 million overnight stays - despite, or maybe because of, the financial crisis. In uncertain times people are more likely to holiday at home, and farmers are looking to cash in.
