Burkina Faso aiming to increase its GM fields
Some researchers claim the new seeds of so-called Bt cotton will increase the yield of each hectare of land by 30%. The creation of US agricultural giant Monsanto, they are genetically engineered to protect plants from some common pests. As well as saving money, cutting down on insecticides is also a big plus for the health of cotton growers.
