Speak No Evil: Big Tobacco
Jeffrey Wigand, the tobacco executive whose decision to expose wrong-doing in that industry was dramatized in the film "The Insider," speaks at the University of Houston Law Center about his experience. Wigand was vice-president for research and development for Brown & Williamson, the country’s third-largest tobacco company, from 1988 to 1993. After leaving that company, he became the highest-ranking tobacco executive to acknowledge the industry's various efforts to downplay the health issues of smoking. The company responded with lawsuits and a public relations campaign to discredit him. From the Series:Speak No Evil: Big Tobacco
