Prudential to Sell $1B in Common Shares
Prudential Financial (PRU) has begun a public offering of $1 billion of its common stock to fund a portion of the purchase price for its acquisition of AIG Star Life Insurance and AIG Edison Life Insurance from American International Group (AIG).  Prudential said Citi (C), Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAC), UBS (UBS), and Barclays Capital (BCS) will serve as joint bookrunning managers for the offer.
