赤倉温泉を出発した列車は山形-宮城県境へ向け、登り勾配を唸りながら登っていきます。進行右手に明神川に沿って風景が開け心地良い車窓です。トンネルを抜けると前面に県境の山々を望み、緑濃い木立が目に沁みる区間です。明神川橋りょうを渡り国道47号を潜れば、登り勾配区間も終わり堺田を通過します。■公開中長沢通過→瀬見温泉
