2,000 patients receive $1 million in free dental care
iReport — The Greenheck Field House was transformed into a large-scale dental clinic treating adults and children who are uninsured, underinsured, or otherwise unable to visit a dentist office.Dr. Julie Fox and WDA Communications Coordinator Emily Bultman were kind enough to give us a tour and explain what was taking place. The doors opened at 6:00am and within an hour over 600 people passed through the doors. Some slept in their cars for two days to receive treatment.When learning of this event on TV this morning I knew it was an important story to share. The area, like most of America, is struggling with a challenged economy and programs like this are a blessing to see taking place.The WDA Mission of Mercy will be in Weston today and tomorrow. A huge thank you to the 1000 volunteers and everyone that helped in big ways and small. Dr. Julie Fox shared that nobody said no when approached about helping.
