This first Cohen tune I ever heard; so deceptively simple. Everytime I sing it, the hypnotic and relentless lull of the rhythm like lapping waves and his extraordinary poetry pull me in as though I can’t help myself.... as though I'm lost in a place I've never been. And the audience's response each time I sing makes it clear that it's power is a drug in a time when simplicity and artistry are in short supply. Thank you Leonard!!!
