Sarkozy snubs farmers' fair after abuse row
When French President Nicolas Sarkozy told a visitor who refused to shake hands with him at France’s annual agricultural fair in 2008: "Get lost, you stupid idiot!", the video immediately went viral. This year, Sarkozy is taking no chances. He's turning his back on the tradition that the French president opens the farmers' fair — provoking yet more ire from the industry.
