Batman, Arkham Asylum
Now that The Dark Knight is officially the second highest grossing movie of all time (behind the unbeatable Titanic of course), Eidos Interactive and Rocksteady Studios are in plans to bring their own darker Batman title to the Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. Batman Arham Asylum is the official name, and although the characters are not based off of how their movie representations, the game features a similar storyline where players get to experience Gotham’s famous prison while dealing with the Joker and his tricks. So far we really don't know much about the game, just that it's got a big name producer behind it and the few screenshots that have been released. So far, the game is looking very impressive featuring what seems to be a lot of hand to hand combat in high detail. Arkham Asylum is looking dark and with another refreshing look at the Joker. Seeing as most of Batman's enemies are housed in Arkham Asylum, we can at least expect to see some of them popping up to challenge Batman on his way to contain the Joker once again. From what I can tell, The Joker gets caught and as Batman accompanies him to be incarcerated in the Asylum, things start going just a little haywire. Thus the fun begins, and it's up to you to get past what's in store and deal with the Joker once and for all. The game itself has a great vibe to it already, taking some influence off of the recent success of The Dark Knight. It looks gritty, it looks haunting, but most importantly, it looks like Batman. Now I just can't wait for the release of Titanic, a new real-time strategy game with its primary driving influence being: boredom.
