Argentina seeks to keep sound of tango alive
Though the bandoneon is smaller than a traditional accordion, its rich and soulful sound makes it the instrument of choice for Argentinian tango. But the making of the bandoneon is a dying art. It hasn’t been made in the country for decades, leaving tango orchestras to hunt down, and lovingly restore, the ageing instruments. (AFP TV World)
