每次經濟由盛轉衰，香港人會由奢華中領悟節儉的真理。九七金融風暴後，人人勒緊褲頭，衣食住行消費始終要節儉，當時亦有優惠專書教人消費。 沙士之後百業不振，報紙出一整頁的印花，師奶趨之若騖。金融海嘯後，慳得就慳成為市民的座右銘。儲印花不單是師奶之專利，亦有大學講師不厭其煩慢慢計數，盡量節省，希望儲其第一桶金。 時移世易，今時今日印花和過去大不相同。今日印花很多是scriptless"無紙化"，可以在電腦下載。亦有新網頁成立專門介紹各種優惠，三個月內有一千名會員，反映在經濟收縮下，上至中產、下至草根；不分男女、不分年齡，皆以節儉出發。
