UKFI hires O’Neil
UK Financial Investments, the body that runs the government’s stakes in banks from Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds to Northern Rock, has hired Jim O’Neil, Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s corporate finance chief, as head of market investments. Patrick Jenkins, banking editor, explains how the government is expected to begin preparing potential divestments of its stakes over the coming months.
