Wanneer de duivel zijn favoriete demoon Nick (Rob Lowe) naar de Aarde stuurt met de opdracht de ziel los te peuteren van Cassie Springer, was het laatste wat hij verwachtte dat deze verliefd op haar zou worden. Nick, zelf ook onbekend met dit rare gevoel begrijpt er niets van en bakt niets van de opdracht. Het geklungel van Nick doet de Duivel besluiten het heft zelf maar in handen te nemen
