Why Turkey’s markets remains strong
Turkey’s stock market has been one of the strongest performers among emerging markets. Looking ahead to 2011, Tevfik Asksoy, a senior economist at Morgan Stanley, tells Barney Jopson, assistant editor of the FT's Beyond Brics blog, that the positives, such as internal demand and healthy banking, probably outweigh concerns over Turkey's trade deficit and an influx of "hot money".
