Arizona Teacher Invited To View Final Shuttle Launch
iReport — Tim Johnson, an educator in Phoenix, Arizona was one of 150 lucky people chosen by NASA to attend a two day "Tweetup."  The culmination of the event was watching space shuttle Atlantis launch for the final mission of the 30 year program.  Mr. Johnson drove from Arizona to Florida for the Tweetup, but other participants came from as far away as Australia, Europe, Asia and south America.  The Tweetup attendees viewed the launch from the press site, which at about three miles from the launch pad is as close as the public is able to be. I look forward to sharing this historical event with my students.  It has been something I’ve always wanted to see, and I am so thrilled to have been at the last shuttle launch.  It was an amazing and emotional experience.
