World Music: David Whitaker, "Relax"
With the holidays fast approaching, and the ensuing family obligations, gift giving, and enforced gaity, we all may find ourselves in need of a breather. David Whitaker is a rapper/performer based in Japan. He says, "I create music because it expresses my heart audibly. I was blessed to be raised in an eclectic household, so I perform just as eclectically." This animation by Kochin may have specifically Japanese iconography, but the message is universal. So take a bit of a break, and "Relax" as Whitaker suggests. Is this strictly "world music?" Maybe not, but it’s still good advice.
