Dawne fabryki zmieniają się w centra kultury. Przykładem może być Polska Filharmonia Bałtycka, jedna z najważniejszych instytucji kultury w województwie pomorskim. Nową siedzibą Filharmonii jest zespół budynków po dawnej elektrociepłowni z końca XIX wieku. "Przeprowadzka" do nowego obiektu została zrealizowana przy współudziale unijnych środków.
