A Tampa mother and another man charged in a case of severe child abuse involving the woman’s 2-year-old daughter will head back to court today.  According to police reports, doctors say the child had a severed pancreas caused by blunt trauma to the abdomen, two rib fractures, a burn mark in the shape of a fork on her right knee, bite marks on her buttocks and thigh and several scratches on her neck. The rib fractures are believed to be two weeks old, while the burn mark and the pancreas injury likely happened within the last week.
