An Active Sunday on the CSX Trenton Subdivision - West Trenton and Woodbourne
Went railfanning again on June 5th with my friends, TraniacProductions and trainutjob. Saw 13 trains total. Pretty dang good, especially for a sunday. We first made a brief stop at Woodbourne, Pennsylvania to catch westbound trash train Q703-04, which had an ES40DC and an AC44CW for power. After that, we grabbed some snacks, and made our way over to West Trenton Station. Our first train there was eastbound manifest Q300-05, which had a pretty nice lashup, consisting of a YN2 C40-8 and C40-8W. Following right behind Q300 was eastbound trash train Q702-04, which had an SD70MAC in the lead and an ES40DC trailing. They met westbound trash train Q707-05, which was stopped. After an eastbound SEPTA cleared, Q707 got the signal to head west. It had a very nice YN2 SD70MAC leading. A little bit after that, Q190-05 heads east with 3 engines. Though they were GE widecabs, I have never seen Q190 with more than 2 engines, so this was a nice little treat. Following closely behind was eastbound manifest Q418-05, which had yet another pair of 500 series AC44’s. Shortly after, we see a light engine move, X037-05, with an ES40DC and a YN2 AC44CW. About 2 1/2 hours after X037, we finally get another freight. Q438-04 with an ES44AH leading and an AC44CW trailing. Q438 had a nice little surprise on it. Metro North M8's were in tow in the back of the train. Not too long after Q438, Q410-04 appears with a nice surprise as well. Leading was an ES40DC, and trailing was a C40-8W and SD40-3 #4003 ...
