Am Tag nach dem Tsunami entdecken Helfer Überlebende in der Küstenstadt Natori: Rund 800 Menschen war es gelungen sich in ein höher gelegenes Schulgebäude im Stadtgebiet zu flüchten. Eine Frau wurde unter Trümmern gefunden. Sie berichtet, wie sie sich auf einer Tatami-Matte vor der Flutwelle retten konnte.
