May 14: Diagnosing the 'flash crash'
The so-called flash crash on Wall Street has highlighted whether the evolution of equity market structures, driven by technology and competition, has created too much fragmentation across trading platforms with too few speed checks.  Brian Gallagher, head of electronic trading in Europe for Morgan Stanley, suggests some outcomes and says Europe could be in better shape to cope.
