電球６０万個一斉に、ケヤキ並木に点灯 仙台
仙台の冬を彩る「２００９ＳＥＮＤＡＩ光のページェント」が１２日、仙台市中心部の定禅寺通で始まった。ケヤキ並木に取り付けられた６０万個の電球が一斉に点灯すると、訪れた観光客らから歓声が上がった。 ２４回目を迎えた光のページェント。電気代の節約に加え環境への負荷を減らそうと、今回から電球のうち３分の１を、白熱球から消費電力の少ない発光ダイオード（ＬＥＤ）に切り替えた。点灯は毎日午後５時半から午後１１時まで。最終日の１２月３１日は午後１１時５９分５９秒まで点灯され、新年の訪れとともに消灯する。
