April 29. Very clear, very fine day.  I visited the friend who lived in Wachi , countryside of Kyoto, about 1hour from my house. He is an artist and also a farmer. And he is the fellow of the dog whose name is VONO. She slightly gains weight from last time I met. It was just before to pull water to his rice field. It is just a season of preparations for rice-transplanting now. There is the field --already filled up with water. There is the field --today draw and flow water. I drink with him from noon. Time passes really fast. The young tree of eucalyptus rustles in wind beside his rice field in his garden. The wind same as the wind that blew now does not blow again. It is the beginnings of very famous poetry by Bashyou Matsuo. Three kinds of translation. The months and days are the travellers of eternity. The years that come and go are also voyagers. Those who float away their lives on ships or who grow old leading horses are forever journeying, and their homes are wherever their travels take them.
