2010FIFAワールドカップ南アフリカ大会、日本代表の長友佑都選手(23)は新天地・イタリアへ出発した。長友選手は、セリエA・チェゼーナとの最終交渉のため、イタリアにたった。長友選手は「今、100%で努力ができないと、あしたはないと思う」と話した。セリエAは、カターニアの森本貴幸選手(22)も所属するリーグで、移籍が決定すれば、長友対森本、日本代表同士の対決が実現する。長友選手は「森本ですか...いい選手なので、フィジカルで抑えたいと思います」と話した。メディカルチェックを受け、交渉がまとまれば、早ければ現地時間13日にも入団会見が行われる。
